The Salman Raspberry Ranch is a National Historic Site composed of a Mercantile building (which houses the year round Salman Ranch Store), a Roller Mill, beautiful Gardens full of Salman Ranch Nursery plants and surrounded by historic adobe walls, the Mission Church of San Rafael, and the Romero-Salman Hacienda. The Salman Ranch Store, open year round, is filled with Ranch grown raspberry products (jam, vinegar, topping, chile berry, raspberry fudge, raspberry cremes), and other delicious, hand picked food items from throughout New Mexico. It plays host to local photographers, artists, and jewelers. Unique baskets for holiday gift giving are available as well as fresh raspberries, black berries, and vegetables in season. The Ranch hosts families in its U-Pick-It Raspberry field from mid August to mid October (weather dependent) and its informal cafe, (open during the raspberry field season) serves vegetables from its gardens, raspberry deserts from its raspberry field, local specialties, and soft serve ice cream. It has become a traditional outing for families from not only the state of New Mexico but throughout the Southwest. In 2008 the Salman Ranch Nursery opened its doors. Housed in five cold frames and filled with hearty, grown from seed annuals, perennials, and vegetables, the Nursery is open from May through July and serves the families of northern New Mexico. Landscaping services are available, along with all sorts of information for your plant care.
