Hunting In New Mexico
New Mexico’s hunting opportunities are as abundant and diverse as its terrain and habitats. Throughout our vast landscapes you will find big game hunts like bull elk, mule deer, or pronghorn; more exotic species including Persian ibex, oryx, and Barbary sheep; and upland game such as quail, Dusky grouse, several squirrel species, and pheasants. Here are just a few places across New Mexico you’ll find some great hunting opportunities.
Visit the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish’s Licenses & Permits resource where you will find everything you need to know about New Mexico’s hunting requirement, fees, and/or stamp validations (including where to find over-the-counter license vendors). You will also find references for available discounts and exceptions.
