Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad

Climb aboard our National Historic Landmark for a 64-mile day trip you’ll never forget. Our coal-fired steam engine carries you through steep mountain canyons, high desert, and lush meadows as you zig zag between the Colorado and New Mexico border. Open your eyes to spectacular and rare Western scenery which can only be viewed from our train’s unique route. Ride in the Victorian elegance of our deluxe parlor car or choose the budget-friendly coach car. Either way, a delicious buffet lunch is included. Trains depart daily from Chama, New Mexico and Antonito, Colorado. A luxury motor coach chauffeurs you back to your starting point at the end of the ride.

Fall is a beautiful time to ride with the gold shimmering aspen trees catching the light.

A trip on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway transports you above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain a distance of 2.7 miles. See some of nature’s more dramatic beauty unfold before you. At sunset the desert skies produce a spectacular array of color, and your vantage point from the observation deck atop 10,378 foot Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest affords an 11,000 square-mile panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley and the Land of Enchantment. Located on the eastern edge of Albuquerque in the Sandia Foothills at the end of Tramway Road.

Fall Chairlift Rides

Ski Santa Fe

During weekends  & Holidays in September and Balloon Fiesta week, Ski Santa Fe will run our Super Chief Quad chair from 10am to 3pm (weather dependent). The Coffee Bar and La Casa Cafe will be open from 9am to 4pm. Our 18 Hole Disc Golf Course will be open starting Labor Day weekend through October 13. The last chairlift ride down is 3:30pm. Come in to the Sport Shop for our annual sale. Up to 60% off of last years clothes and gear. On select days we will have, live music, a beer garden, and activities for the whole family.

 

Red River Ski & Summer Area

The scenic chairlift ride is one of the more relaxing adventures you can have while in Red River. The three seat platinum chair takes you approximately 1,600 vertical feet, up to the Summit. There you will experience stunning views.

 

Angel Fire Resort

Enjoy Angel Fire and the Moreno Valley like never before. Take in the beautiful views as our chairlift rides take you to the summit of our mountain at 10,677 feet. When you are ready to head back, you have the option of either hiking down or riding the chairlift back to the base area. The views on the way down allow you to see the entire valley and, depending on visibility, shows views of Wheeler Peak and Eagle Nest Lake State Park.

Rio Grande Community Farm

Plan your visit to the Maize Maze at Rio Grande Community Farm! Visitors of all ages can enjoy live music, special events, food & drinks, giant games, and if you’re feeling adventurous—take on their 3.8-mile corn maze.
