AMP Concerts brings the best world, folk and eclectic music to venues all over New Mexico. Since our founding in 2004, we've presented hundreds of concerts by many of the world’s most celebrated musicians including songwriting legends Jackson Browne and Joan Baez; country icons Emmylou Harris and Lyle Lovett; jazz and classical masters Chick Corea and Philip Glass; world music ambassadors R. Carlos Nakai and Paco de Lucía; indie rock pioneers Wilco and David Byrne; and many more. Our concerts range from free monthly shows at libraries to club, theater, and outdoor performances. In addition to concerts, as a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, we provide cultural education by producing musical experiences such as master classes, workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and other outreach programs – many in partnership with important community institutions including Albuquerque/Santa Fe Public Libraries, the N4th Art Center for developmentally disabled adults, KUNM public radio, Western New Mexico University, and the National Hispanic Cultural Center. In 2016 AMP was awarded a contract by the New Mexico Dept. of Cultural Affairs to produce music/education programs at historic sites around the state. AMP also produces the annual ¡Globalquerque! world music festival, which National Geographic called “a destination in its own right” that gives Seattle’s Bumbershoot, Texas’ Austin City Limits, and Chicago’s World Music Festival “a run for their money.” Although AMP originated in Albuquerque, we expanded in 2015 with a second office in Santa Fe and now present over 180 events each year throughout the entire state of New Mexico.
