Rebecca Anthony, at Art On the Gray Hill in Mountainair, New Mexico, creates New Mexico inspired art work using colored pencil, acrylics, mixed media, and paper collage using a technique called scherenschnitte, meaning "paper cutting" in German. Currently Rebecca is focusing on mixed media and paper because of the interesting textures, exquisite colors, stunning patterns, and variety of interesting materials. A large portion of her mixed media add-ons are found objects; found along the New Mexico highways, in ditches, on hikes, thrift stores, and given to her by friends. Her preferred subject matter is New Mexico in all of it's intricate forms; landscapes, wildlife, architecture,(historic, prehistoric, and modern) culture, lifestyle, and life values. About three times per year Rebecca shares her paper techniques in workshops held in Mountainair and Albuquerque.
What patrons say, "I love your birds." "Max and Stella make me smile." "I've never seen work like yours before. It's so unique." "Wow!"
