Avokado Artists is a 360° arts organization dedicated to cross-cultural understanding through art and the cultivation, promotion, presentation and preservation of culturally significant artists and their work from around the globe. We strive to bring the works of these artists to the attention of the broadest possible audience. The organization was founded in 2004, and was granted 501(c)3 status in 2009. Our activities include artist management, presenting, educational outreach, consulting, publishing, music licensing and clearance, recording, label and more. Our current roster includes twice Grammy-nominated Iraqi oud master and composer Rahim AlHaj, the NYC - Brazil collective Nation Beat, powerful American roots-music group hONEyhoUSe, Beatles mariachis Mariachi Mystery Tour, Magical Realism Mexican Painter Jade Leyva, Puerto Rican stylist Ani Cordero and thunderous traditional Brazilian drum group Maracatu New York. We also work and consult with like-minded organizations such as UR Arts & CUlture and SEEDS: A Collective Voice. Our label roster, Avokado Artists Recordings, includes Juno-award winning artist Kiran Ahluwalia, Nation Beat, and Colombian Vallenato master Beto Jamaica (2014 Release) Avokado Artist founded, co-produces and co-curates the annual ¡Globalquerque! Festival, a 2013 ABQ Creative Bravos Award Recipient, now in its 10th year.
