Located on the Plaza in historic Old Mesilla, the Double Eagle fills a large historic adobe home will beautiful art and antiques, Lalique and Baccarat crystal chandeliers and even a ceiling made of real gold! The historic building was saved when it became a restaurant in 1972 serving aged steaks, from the only dedicted beef ageing room in the state, and delectable seafood served with continental style. The Wine by the Glass program offers an ever changing opportunity to taste old favorites as well as venture into new territory by ording Wine Flights with your choice of three 'tastes' of the WBTG List. Cocktails are offered with fun twists: green chile infused vodka, black cherry infused bourbon, organic liquors and others with a mixologist approach to cocktail recipes. The Beer List changes seasonally and includes craft beers and international imports. The beef ageing room was scientifically designed to take full advantage of the natural, organic process of tenderizing beef. Through time and temperature controls allowing the natural enzymes already present to break down connective tissues and cells, the Executive Chef monitors conditions and works to produce the tenderest of steaks for your enjoyment.
