A beautiful, quiet and secluded Bed and Breakfast located in a peaceful New Mexico setting, the Enchanted Villa was built in 1941 as a retreat for Sir Victor Sassoon, a member of the Burmese royalty and a multinational entrepreneur. At the time The Enchanted Villa was built, Sassoon was the 10th wealthiest man in the world. Hillsboro, New Mexico is a small unincorporated community located in Sierra County, in the southwestern part of the state. Founded in 1877, following the discovery of gold, Hillsboro was the county seat of Sierra County from 1884 until 1936 when Hot Springs (now called Truth or Consequences) became the county seat. Between 1893 and 1898, about 6,600 pounds of gold were produced there. Several movies have been filmed in the vicinity, including: Lewis & Clark & George (1997), Paper Hearts (1993) and The Last Stand (2013)
