JW Art Gallery is located in downtown Hurley, NM (on Hwy 180 north of Deming 14 miles below Silver City). We have a large RV parking area and easy handicapped access. Our historic 18,600 sq. ft. buildings were the Chino Copper Mine's Company Store. The wooden portion, built in 1910 when the city of Hurley was first laid out became the warehouse for the brick portion of the store built in 1912. We feature works of art from New Hampshire, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Oil- and acrylics-on canvas as well as monotypes, watercolors and photographs can be found here as well as many bronze and wooden sculptures. In our gift shop are colorful ceramics from Mexico, chili jams and jellies and a selection of books by local authors about this part of the state. Our Museum has full color photographic images of the copper smelter at work and includes railroad belt buckles and other memorabilia from that era. Our website: jwartgallery.com will provide previews of many of our artist's work and images from our buildings as well.
