New Mexico Fiber Arts Center was established nearly 20 years ago by local artisans and today operates as a tax-exempt, nonprofit membership organization with 501(c)3 status. Our mission is to promote the rich textile heritage of Northern New Mexico. We are a Center for learning, encouraging aspiring fiber artisans and fostering economic sustainability in the fiber arts. Stop by at the center in Española or plan a visit, since we offer: Supplies and tools for dyeing, spinning, weaving, knitting, embroidery, felting, crocheting and much more: - Walk’in’Weave for you to finish weaving your first rag rug in just a few hours - Classes on wide-ranging topics taught by local and nationally recognized fiber artisans and master teachers - Private lessons enabling you to learn local traditions such as Rio Grande weaving and Colcha embroidery - Special Interest Groups where as a beginner or advanced fiber enthusiast you can knit, spin, quilt or weave with new friends - Enchanted Fiber Gallery where traditional and contemporary handmade creations by local fiber artists are available for purchase
