The New Mexico Philharmonic, under the direction of Music Director, Roberto Minczuk, is the largest year round arts organization in New Mexico, presents over 30 symphonic concerts a year in venus around the Albuquerque area. Concert series are presented at various locations including Popejoy Hall, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, The Albuquerque Biopark Zoo and several neighborhood churches. The NMPhil has an extensive music education program consisting of youth concerts at Popejoy Hall for 4th and 5th grade students and a special concert for autistic students, small ensemble concerts presented in elementary schools, and our Young Musician’s Initiative program--an intensive four day a week after school music program for title one students inspired by Venezuela's revolutionary El Sistema. The YMI program provides the use of free instruments, intensive music training, and academic support to Title One students, empowering them to become vital citizens, leaders, and agents of change.
