For 35 years, Music from Angel Fire has been bringing world-class musicians performing masterworks in communities that would never have the opportunity to experience the joy of classical music. Our mission is also to bring educational concerts and classes to the area schools as well as to main stage audiences, not just during the festival but during the year as well. We commission and premiere 2 new works each summer by top American composers. We collaborate with prestigious New Mexico visual artists for our program book and bring in students from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia to perform free school and community outreach concerts. Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall Musicians are led by Artistic Director Ida Kavafian, now in her 34th season. Music from Angel Fire is committed to serving these rural, lesser served communities of Northern New Mexico.
