Driving south through the grasslands, you encounter the small town of Roy, once home to the Dawson Railroad. The byway is adorned with a number of beautiful little mission churches. Like a string of pearls, they stretch from Solano to Gallegos. The byway ends in Logan, best known for Ute Lake State Park on the Canadian River. Its recreational opportunities - camping, boating, picnicking, and fishing - are inviting excuses to linger awhile.
